When initially speaking with Whole Earth Enterprises about developing a new website, it was clear that there would be a lot of ideas and projects to try and pull together. With vacation rentals in two countries as well as real estate for sale, the primary focus of the website would be promoting these properties to both potential renters and buyers. The trick was finding ways to also seamless integrate the other interests and talents at Whole Earth without overcrowding or complicating the website.
The beauty of Wordpress is that it can grow rather seamlessly and that it multitasks remarkably well. Once the core real estate sections of the website were built, we were able to flesh out the site with photo galleries of special art events, a blog that promotes tourism and responsible travel and an online store where people can purchase and download complete building plans for sustainable homes and greenhouses. Integrating the social networking applications, Facebook and Twitter, as well as utilizing MailChimp's email campaign software, the Whole Earth team can easily update the site with events & news as well as maintain a fresh presence online.
