When first approached by Gypsy to redesign their website, they were using a basic site created with iWeb with a few static informational pages and a selection of photos of their jewelry. As their line of unique imported pieces received more and more national press, they were looking to upgrade their website to include an online store, store locator for all of their boutique partners and a showcase for the press coverage.

Because Gypsy was already using Lightspeed's POS system to track their inventory and sales orders, I built their online store using the companion ecommerce platform. It took a substantial amount of backend code manipulation to be able to output the inventory into two separate stores, one for wholesale purchases by partner boutiques and one for retail buyers. I also created custom themes for both stores to allow for easy browsing of the different categories of jewelry available.

Beyond the store, I used Wordpress as a content management system to house the rest of the website. This included using plugins to run an events calendar and store locator map as well as using a customized "blog" theme to catalog all of the magazine press as well as featuring celebrities wearing the Gypsy Collection. Re-branding the company's image also included developing the new logo, creating a print publicity suite of business cards, product tags and informational postcards and helping develop an overall style concept for future marketing endeavors.

The initial development of Gypsy's website went so well that I have continued to work with the company on all website maintenance & content updates. I also help administrate their Facebook page, create press boards for market events, design & write their email marketing campaign letters and design new print campaigns for each season. With their team often on the road at market & trade shows as well as abroad to purchase their jewelry, we use 37 Signals' Basecamp online collaboration software as well as Skype to coordinate and keep track of current endeavors and plan for Gypsy's growth in the future.
