copywriting, editing and photo services for your website by irmacreative
It doesn't matter how beautiful or modern or high tech your website is if its content isn't clear and up to date. You need to have copy that is comprehensive but also suited for the average internet reader who often skims rather than reads thoroughly. Finding this balance, as well as making considerations for search engine optimization, is not only the most important but is also often the most daunting part of developing a website.
Whether you officially contract me for "content services" or not, you can rest assured that I will run your copy through a spell and grammar check before the site's launch as well as make suggestions if I feel there is something missing. Beyond this basic assistance, I offer many levels of copywriting, editing and organization collaboration. My content services range from simple editing to extensive writing contribution and can include:
- copyediting for style, vernacular and SEO accessibility
- helping to unify the "voice" of a website (this is especially helpful if multiple people on the client side work on developing the content of the site)
- breaking down completed content into appropriate and logical website sections/pages
- converting raw data to fully realized copy
- indepth research and writing of specific sections (or the entirety) of the website
- converting web-oriented writing into copy for print or vice versa
One of the pages I am most often asked to write is the "about me/us" page that is included on almost all websites, both business and personal. It is difficult for almost anyone to sum up their experience and qualifications as pertains to the focus of the website in addition to forming a personal connection to the user. My own about page took me over a week to write and then another week of sending out to friends for revisions before I was happy with it. Meanwhile, in the same week, I easily whipped up an about page for a client in one afternoon after a half hour Skype conference call and reviewing all of the content he had sent me over the course of the project.
During the proposal process, we will discuss in detail how I can best serve your content needs & budget. Please refer to my pricing page for more information. Please note that content services can also include providing visual content such as stock/custom photography and video as well as supplementary content from other websites or print sources. Any additional costs incurred by ancillary materials are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed upon and signed to in our contract.
